Pastor’s Message

Psalm 115:5-8
5 They have mouths, but cannot speak,
eyes, but cannot see.
6 They have ears, but cannot hear,
noses, but cannot smell.
7 They have hands, but cannot feel,
feet, but cannot walk,
nor can they utter a sound with their throats.
8 Those who make them will be like them,
and so will all who trust in them.

The Psalmist is denouncing the idols (carve images) and give a warning to the makers of the idols. We know that idol is futile/useless and without any senses. In other words you cannot expect an idol to listen or to answer. Now, in contrast to our God – the God who hears and answers to each one of us who call on to His name. God is SPIRIT, and His worshipers MUST worship in spirit and in truth.

Pastor’s Message

Psalm 108:4 For great is you LOVE, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

The LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS of God is immeasurable. Have you ever think of that beloved? Higher than the heaven? Yes, indeed. LOVE was describe in this verse as higher than the heavens and the faithfulness of God reaches to the skies. Therefore, the Love of God is supreme and extravagant.
May we continue to embrace God’s love as we press on in our journey with the Lord.

Be a Joyful Giver
“Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV

Calvary Chapel Davao Bulletin 1st Week of February 2011

Pastor’s Message

Jonah 4:1-3 But Jonah was greatly displeased and became angry. He prayed to the LORD, “O LORD, is this not what I said when I was still at home? That is why I was so quick to flee to Tarshish. I knew that you are gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity. Now O Lord, take away my life, for it is better for me to die than to live. But O Lord take away my life, for it is better for me to dies than to live.” But the LORD replied, “Have you any right to be angry?”

At this moment Jonah finally obeyed God to go to the city of Ninevah and proclaim the message to them. As a result people of Nineveh repented from their sins. However, Jonah was not pleased and so upset because he saw those people (worse sinners) turning from their wicked ways, despite of the fact that he was the one who preached the Word of God to them.

For us, we should rejoice when someone resented and receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Because remember, we too are sinners saved by His GRACE.
