Calvary Chapel Davao Bulletin 1st Week of March 2012

March 4, 2012 By Calvary Chapel Davao Leave a Comment

Pastor’s Message

Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.

This was an honest confession of Asaph, he was a worship leader in King David’s era. Before this confession he became insensitive, bitter, envied to the arrogant when he saw thier prosperity. He tried to understand it with his finite mind but it pulls him down. Till he comes and entered the sanctuary of God; and then he understood the final destination of the wicked ones. Then, he confess his sins to God and acknowledged that God is the source of strength even when he fails. Thus, we should have to be honest before the Lord and always acknowledged that God is mighty even in our weakness.

Psalm Reading

Psalm 46
1 God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.[c]

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

7 The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

8 Come and see what the LORD has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields[d] with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

11 The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Happy Birthday

Calvary Chapel Davao Bulletin 1st Week of November 2011

November 10, 2011 By Calvary Chapel Davao Leave a Comment

Pastor’s Message

Revelation 7:16a&17c Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. 17c And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Isn’t that amazing to know in advance what it will be like in heaven? For the mean time, in this fallen world, some of us are experiencing food shortage, starvation, thirst and lack of provision. And we were crying before God because we are in need. In contrast, in the heavenly realm, we will no longer experience hunger, thirst and any other problems. So, Let us look forward to what we are going to experience in heaven. May God continue to help us to set our minds on things above.

Calvary Chapel Davao Bulletin Last Week of October 2011

October 30, 2011 By Calvary Chapel Davao Leave a Comment

Pastor’s Message

Revelation 3:15a I know your deeds…

In this particular chapter, in connection w/ this verse Jesus rebuked the church of Laodicea because they were LUKEWARM – not cold nor hot! Christ sees all, He knows our condition and ultimately He knows us very well. Here, Jesus affirms that He knows our deeds. In other words, He knows our actions, activities, manners and conduct. So if you are tired and lukewarm pray and ask God to fill you w/ His Spirit and He’ll set you on fire again.
