Calvary Chapel Davao Bulletin 1st Week of August 2012

August 5, 2012 By Calvary Chapel Davao Leave a Comment

Pastor’s Message

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Most of the people nowadays doesn’t crave for spiritual things instead they desired how they gonna feed and fill their flesh. Yet in contrast, Jesus taught God’s people to be hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be satisfied.
Jesus said: I am the bread of life and I am the Living water if anyone comes to me they shall not be hungry and thirsty.
There’s no one else and no other things that would satisfy us it’s only Jesus. Oh how happy is the man who desires Jesus, Jesus, Jesus…

Psalm Reading

Psalm 65
1 Praise awaits you, our God, in Zion;
to you our vows will be fulfilled.
2 You who answer prayer,
to you all people will come.
3 When we were overwhelmed by sins,
you forgave our transgressions.
4 Blessed are those you choose
and bring near to live in your courts!
We are filled with the good things of your house,
of your holy temple.
5 You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds,
God our Savior,
the hope of all the ends of the earth
and of the farthest seas,
6 who formed the mountains by your power,
having armed yourself with strength,
7 who stilled the roaring of the seas,
the roaring of their waves,
and the turmoil of the nations.
8 The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders;
where morning dawns, where evening fades,
you call forth songs of joy.
9 You care for the land and water it;
you enrich it abundantly.
The streams of God are filled with water
to provide the people with grain,
for so you have ordained it.
10 You drench its furrows and level its ridges;
you soften it with showers and bless its crops.
11 You crown the year with your bounty,
and your carts overflow with abundance.
12 The grasslands of the wilderness overflow;
the hills are clothed with gladness.
13 The meadows are covered with flocks
and the valleys are mantled with grain;
they shout for joy and sing.

Calvary Chapel Davao Bulletin 1st Week of March 2012

March 4, 2012 By Calvary Chapel Davao Leave a Comment

Pastor’s Message

Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.

This was an honest confession of Asaph, he was a worship leader in King David’s era. Before this confession he became insensitive, bitter, envied to the arrogant when he saw thier prosperity. He tried to understand it with his finite mind but it pulls him down. Till he comes and entered the sanctuary of God; and then he understood the final destination of the wicked ones. Then, he confess his sins to God and acknowledged that God is the source of strength even when he fails. Thus, we should have to be honest before the Lord and always acknowledged that God is mighty even in our weakness.

Psalm Reading

Psalm 46
1 God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.[c]

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

7 The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

8 Come and see what the LORD has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields[d] with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

11 The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Happy Birthday
Marcelo Solivel Jr. – March 9

Calvary Chapel Davao Bulletin 4th Week of August 2011

August 21, 2011 By Calvary Chapel Davao Leave a Comment

Pastor’s Message

2 Chronicles 30:7-8 Do not be like your parents and your fellow Israelites, who were unfaithful to the LORD, the God of their ancestors, so that he made them an object of horror, as you see. Do not be stiff-necked, as your ancestors were; submit to the LORD. Come to his sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever. Serve the LORD your God, so that his fierce anger will turn away from you.

Every Wednesday we are studying in the Old Testament. Last midweek we had our theme “Return To The Lord”. Here are the highlights that we needed to do:

  1. Do not be unfaithful (trespass) or turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.
  2. Don’t be stiff-necked/stubborn (have a heart of flesh).
  3. Submit to the Lord.
  4. Come to the sanctuary (attend church service)
  5. Serve the Lord your God with gladness.
