Calvary Chapel Davao Bulletin 1st Week of May 2012

Pastor’s Message

Psalm 119:111 Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart.

Looking at this particular passage of scripture, God taught and reminded me that life is not about what you have materially but it’s about having God’s word as your inheritance and legacy. People nowadays craved for power, personal interest, material things & etc. yet forgotten the most important thing in life “The WORD (Jesus)”. Therefore as God’s people let’s remember what Jesus had said: Heaven and earth will pass away buy my WORDS will NEVER pass away.

Psalm Reading

Psalm 54
For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A maskil[b] of David. When the Ziphites(A) had gone to Saul and said, “Is not David hiding among us?”

1 Save me, O God, by your name;
vindicate me by your might.
2 Hear my prayer, O God;
listen to the words of my mouth.
3 Arrogant foes are attacking me;
ruthless people are trying to kill me—
people without regard for God.
4 Surely God is my help;
the Lord is the one who sustains me.
5 Let evil recoil on those who slander me;
in your faithfulness(M) destroy them.
6 I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you;
I will praise your name, Lord, for it is good.
7 You have delivered me from all my troubles,
and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.

Happy Birthday

Calvary Chapel Davao Bulletin 5th Week of April 2012

April 29, 2012 By Calvary Chapel Davao Leave a Comment

Pastor’s Message

Psalm 119:72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.

The Psalmist desires to discover and know more about God’s valuable Words rather than plentiful pieces of silver and gold. What is more important to you (God’s word or physical treasure)? Jesus said: Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Therefore, let’s be more interested of the things of God than the riches of this world.

Psalm Reading

Psalm 53
For the director of music. According to mahalath.[b] A maskil[c] of David.

1 The fool(B) says in his heart,
“There is no God.”(C)
They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;
there is no one who does good.
2 God looks down from heaven(D)
on all mankind
to see if there are any who understand,(E)
any who seek God.(F)
3 Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt;
there is no one who does good,
not even one.(G)
4 Do all these evildoers know nothing?
They devour my people as though eating bread;
they never call on God.
5 But there they are, overwhelmed with dread,
where there was nothing to dread.(H)
God scattered the bones(I) of those who attacked you;(J)
you put them to shame,(K) for God despised them.(L)
6 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
When God restores his people,
let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!

Happy Birthday

Calvary Chapel Davao Bulletin 4th Week of April 2012

Pastor’s Message

Psalm 119:18 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.

When I read this particular passage God reminded of the song “Open the Eyes of my Heart Lord”.
I am convinced that this should be our attitude every time we read God’s Word. We need to always ask and beg for His wisdom and understanding that He might open our Spiritual-eyes to see great things in His Words.
There’s so many things to discover in the Bible, as we continue to study His Words remember at all times and learn by heart — (Psalm 119:18)!!!

Psalm Reading

Psalm 52
For the director of music. A maskil[b] of David. When Doeg the Edomite(A) had gone to Saul and told him: “David has gone to the house of Ahimelek.”

1 Why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero?
Why do you boast(B) all day long,(C)
you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God?
2 You who practice deceit,(D)
your tongue plots destruction;(E)
it is like a sharpened razor.(F)
3 You love evil(G) rather than good,
falsehood(H) rather than speaking the truth.[c]
4 You love every harmful word,
you deceitful tongue!(I)
5 Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin:
He will snatch you up and pluck(J) you from your tent;
he will uproot(K) you from the land of the living.(L)
6 The righteous will see and fear;
they will laugh(M) at you, saying,
7 “Here now is the man
who did not make God his stronghold(N)
but trusted in his great wealth(O)
and grew strong by destroying others!”
8 But I am like an olive tree(P)
flourishing in the house of God;
I trust(Q) in God’s unfailing love
for ever and ever.
9 For what you have done I will always praise you(R)
in the presence of your faithful people.(S)
And I will hope in your name,(T)
for your name is good.(U)
