Psalm 119:18 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.
The psalmist ask God for help that he may see amazing things in His word. Even though he wrote this psalm, notice here that he still have the attitude of asking God to give him spiritual eyes to see the truth.
The same thing for us, we need to pray for understanding and ask God to open our spiritual eyes before reading God’s word.
